30 Years of K-12 Construction Management Leadership and 20 Years of Employee-Ownership
In 2026, Wolgast Corporation proudly celebrates two significant milestones that reflect its long-standing commitment to Michigan communities, public education, and employee-ownership.
Thirty years ago, Wolgast expanded its services to include Construction Management, becoming an advocate for K-12 school districts navigating the complexities of bond-funded projects. At a time, public school districts were limited to using a Construction Manager for publicly funded projects, Wolgast stepped in as a trusted partner—focused on transparency, accountability, and long-term value for taxpayers.
Since that time, Wolgast has delivered more than $2.5 billion in construction for over 140 Michigan School Districts, earning the trust of educational leaders statewide. Today, 80% of Wolgast’s school clients are repeat customers, and 100% of its active Construction Management clients are K-12 districts that had partnered with Wolgast for pre-bond planning.
Over the last three decades, Wolgast's Construction Management Division has refined a comprehensive, school-focused approach that supports districts from early visioning through occupancy. These services include facility studies, enrollment and growth analysis, master planning, estimating for informed decision-making, funding strategy support, bond campaign collaboration, and construction on occupied campuses—all while working within tight academic calendars and minimizing disruption to learning environments.
Twenty years ago, Wolgast reached another defining moment when the Wolgast brothers, Lynn and Pat, transitioned the company to 100% Employee Ownership as part of their long-term succession plan. Today, the company is powered by 114 employee-owners who are personally vested in the success of each project and each client relationship.
Employee-ownership at Wolgast is more than a structure—it’s a mindset. Employee-owners are empowered to think like owners every day: eliminating waste, sharing ideas, solving problems, and leading by example for coworkers, clients, and trade partners alike. This culture of accountability and collaboration continues to strengthen Wolgast’s ability to deliver consistent results and lasting value.
As Wolgast looks ahead, these two milestones serve as both a celebration of past achievements and a foundation for the future—reinforcing a legacy built on trust, partnership, and shared ownership.
Solid foundations. Solid results. The Wolgast Way!
