Wolgast Receives National Recognition as an ABC Accredited Quality Contractor for 25th Year

Wolgast Corporation is proud to announce that they have been achieved Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) status for the 25th consecutive year.  Wolgast continues to receive the national recognition as a result of meeting high certification standards evaluated by the Associated Builder’s and Contractors (ABC), a national association merit shop construction and construction-related firms across the United States.  “Associated Builders and Contractors is pleased to honor Wolgast Corporation with Accredited Quality Contractor status for its commitment to excellence in construction, its workforce and the communities it helps build,” said 2018 ABC National Chair George R. Nash Jr., director of preconstruction at Branch & Associates, Herndon, Va. “Wolgast earned this recognition for world-class safety performance, a strong record of investment in a talented and well-trained workforce, diversity leadership and community service.”

For the evaluation, Wolgast excelled in the five areas of corporate responsibility, including quality, safety, employee benefits, training, and community outreach.  In achieving AQC status, each member company takes the following pledge:

WOLGAST CORPORATION TURNS 70

Saginaw, MI, Wolgast Corporation announces that it turns 70 this year.  Founded by masonry contractor, Gerald (Jerry) Wolgast, in 1948, the company has grown into a construction powerhouse serving businesses throughout Michigan and beyond.  Jerry had a motto of “do it right the first time, every time”, and it’s still the foundation of the Wolgast Way today as the company reaches its Platinum Anniversary.

Wolgast continues to grow and has recently expanded to five Michigan locations by adding an office in Alpena last year and has a staff of 135 employee-owners from Mid-Michigan, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Alpena areas. “We credit our longevity and growth to many things, our loyal customers, employee-ownership, systemized processes, a wide range of services, and of course our speed and quality,” said President & CEO, Brian Stadler.  Jerry’s sons, Lynn and, the late, Pat Wolgast, sold the business to the employees in 2006 making it 100% employee-owned.

2017 has been a great year for the Employee-Owners of Wolgast Corporation!  We had a lot to celebrate during our Annual Employee Meeting in December.

Wolgast's Mike Pung Throws Out 1st Pitch at Loon's Baseball Game

Tuesday, August 22, 2017, Mike Pung of Wolgast Corporation had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Loon's Baseball Game in Midland, Michigan. Pung was in attendance with the MASA Region 4 School Superintendents.

Wolgast's new employee-owners announced

New Construction Management Field Manager, Michael Hollingshead of Chase, Michigan, joins Wolgast with 36 years of construction experience.  He has held positions of concrete finisher, foreman, carpenter, and construction superintendent.  Through Hollingshead’s experience, he has established supervisory skills on the job site, also for scheduling, safety enforcement, and quality control monitoring.  He has first-hand experience with carpentry, heavy equipment operation, and leading a workforce.  As Wolgast Field Manager, Hollingshead will be responsible for being on the construction site from start-to-finish, participating in weekly trade contractor meetings, monitoring progress, enforcing safety standards, offering value engineering suggestions, and overseeing any warranty issues that may arise.

 

Wolgast Corporation Named Accredited Quality Contractor by ABC

Saginaw, MI, June 7, –Wolgast Corporation of Saginaw, Michigan today announced that its status as an Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) has been renewed by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).


“We are proud to be consistently recognized as an Accredited Quality Contractor over the past 24 years.  Our efforts to maintain professional and quality service while supporting our staff and our community continues to be effective not only for us, but for the industry as a whole,” said Wolgast President and CEO, Brian Stadler.

Wolgast Employee-Owners were recognized for their significant commitment to our clients that resulted in a Goodwill Letter sent to the company at our Quarterly Employee Development meeting on Friday, May 12, 2017.

WOLGAST CORPORATION ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS AND PROMOTION TO STAFF

Bryan Kwater of Bridgeport has accepted a position as Project Manager.  Kwater brings to Wolgast more than twenty years of construction experience. In addition to experience with wood and metal framing, drywall acoustical ceilings, EIFS, and insulation for a general contractor, Kwater has executive experience as a former Vice President for a family-owned construction company.  For Wolgast, he is responsible for overseeing the construction of projects within our Restaurant Division, including estimating, management, scheduling and quality control.  Kwater will achieve his Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in August of 2017.
